What is Phimosis?

Phimosis is best described as a condition where the foreskin cannot be retracted over the glans (the head) of the penis. This typically occurs in young boys where the foreskin has not yet separated from the glans and is unable to be pulled back. In some cases, phimosis can be physiological in infants and children, often resolving naturally with age. However, it can also be classified as pathological if it causes symptoms or complications in older children or adults, leading to discomfort or obstructed urine flow.
